Meditation is part of ancient Tibetan philosophy and one of the most widely practiced mindfulness and relaxation techniques in the world. It has powerful benefits and positive effects on our body and mind. Nowadays, many people are trying to achieve a relaxed, stress-free lifestyle suitable for all stages of life, especially due to the changing world of work, digitalized life and social media. Meditation can help us to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, increase our concentration and productivity and connect with our inner peace. Modern meditation is a new, non-spiritual, science-based approach to mindfulness that aims to develop awareness of the now and reduce rumination, negative emotions and overwhelming anxiety. Other benefits include: improved psychological well-being, greater self-confidence, increased cooperation, better motivation, better problem solving, enhanced immune function, better sleep, higher job satisfaction, reduction in chronic pain and high blood pressure and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Many people think that meditation is only for Zen masters and experts, but this is not the case. Anyone can learn to meditate if they are willing to engage in it and enjoy it. There are many different types of meditation, so everyone can find a suitable method that works best for them. Many people fail at meditation because they think that you can only meditate in the lotus position. This is of course completely outdated. Meditation doesn't care what position you are in. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and adopt a comfortable posture. You can meditate in an office chair, a living room chair, a hanging chair on the terrace or lying down, sitting or walking in the park. Just make sure that you feel comfortable. We often hear that the mind should not wander when meditating. But that's not true. We can think about anything we want during meditation, the important thing is that we return to the object of our concentration after a while. To summarize: there are hardly any limits to modern meditation and the range of possibilities is endless.
